Setting Realistic Expectations If You Want To Write Full-Time
Many who love to write dream about becoming a full-time writer. The allure of crafting worlds with words or sharing one’s most profound insights or wildest adventures is undeniably compelling.
It’s a pursuit that promises the freedom to explore one’s creativity and the potential to connect with readers worldwide.
When I started this journey, I thought writing was glamorous because of the freedom to work for myself. I had to learn along the way that it is more complex. I do not currently make full-time income from writing, but I have seen my income grow over the last two and a half years since I started writing. I also offer additional services in my business, such as editing, proofreading, etc., to gain a little extra income based on writing. My goal is to one day just be able to write and do nothing else. Hopefully, I have found some level of consistency in my routine to grow in my writing experience and income.
Becoming a full-time writer comes with its own challenges and realities. If you want to make this change successfully, knowing what to expect and setting realistic goals is essential. This is another lesson I had to learn the hard way, but it was worth the struggle of learning.
