Music therapy offers a distinct approach to using music to assist individuals in managing their emotions and thoughts. Music therapy is a unique form of healing that harnesses the influence of music to create a positive effect on our emotions and minds.

The global acknowledgment of music as a therapeutic intervention has grown significantly, especially in clinical settings.

In the United States, establishing the National Association for Music Therapy and the Certification Board of Music Therapists in the early 1950s played a pivotal role in standardizing and formalizing accredited music therapy programs.

This recognition paved the way for the nationwide integration of music therapy, spanning diverse environments such as hospitals, youth centers, schools, and prisons, as highlighted by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
