2025: Unfiltered Chaos Already
Holy crap! The headlines lately have been insane. I feel like 2025 is starting a bit chaotic, and just when I think the work can’t get any crazier… it kinda does.
We have the current discussion over banning a social media platform, which has resulted in the wildest protest I have ever seen and a growing sense of frustration about politics, wars, and even how the crisis in California is being handled.
As a writer and small business owner, I can agree with the dissent that 170 million people face.
I gave up Facebook and Instagram about a year ago for mental health reasons, but it was one of the best choices I ever made. As a business owner who sells books and other items, I could not get attention to my items over there, even with paid advertising, like I got over on TikTok. I had a store where I sold about 100 books quickly with no advertising and limited followers. As the ban date became closer, I closed my store because I felt it was best until the government figured out if they would ban it.
As of today, it does look like the TikTok ban may be temporarily stayed, but who knows how long that will last or if it will be permanent.
